Campus Dining Services Adjustments: July 21鈥揂ugust 8

The following message was shared by Reed's campus dining team regarding summer renovation impacts.

Dear Reed Community, 

Due to a sizeable project this Summer, Commons Café and kitchen will provide limited services starting Monday, July 21.

Assuming there are no unexpected issues, Bon Appétit staff expect to have full use of the kitchen by Friday, August 1, and hope to resume normal summer operations by Monday, August 8.

Services offered over the 2-week duration of the project will be limited and will gradually return to normal as the project becomes less of an obstacle in our café and kitchen. Guests will still have access to Commons but should expect limited accessibility in certain areas of the cafe due to the staging of new equipment. The dining room will not be affected by the renovations. During the majority of this project Commons will not have the use of our industrial dish machine and will need to use paper plates and cups during service.

As of now we anticipate services to look like the following:

  • Monday 7/21 through Monday 7/28:
    Limited grab and go offerings to include basic salads and sandwiches as well as composed fruit and pasta salads, cookies, coffee, tea. Limited retail snacks and beverages will also be available. Guests should expect limited quantities.
  • Tuesday 7/29 through Friday 8/1:
    We expect to increase services starting Tuesday 7/29 offering items from our grill, deli and salad bar stations. Grab and go options will decrease as more stations come online.

Catering options will be significantly limited as well. Please reach out to catering@reed.edu to discuss how we can best meet your catering requests during this time.
